Decembre 24th 2011 : Another year behind, welcome 2012 !

November 15th
2011 : It has been a long time 
without news from us. In French we have a say "no news good
news". In fact we spent this last 3 1/2 months backpacking in Peru 
.
For those who can read French or just would like to see some pictures of our
great adventures, 
please do consult the column named "L'Amarre
toilée" in which we do relate our exciting journey. We will
be back on Titom beginning of January but meantime we will fly tomorrow to
Geneva where our family and friends are waiting us to spend Chrismas and New
Year together.

June 22nd,
2011 : This year was quite special,
we were going to cross Atlantic back to Eupore, but then we changed our mind
and decided to stay one more year in the Caribbean Sea and not to go further
than Martinique this season. This new program allowed us to have more time to enjoy
these beautiful islands 
. For the first time
we went on top of the Montagne Pelée (Martinique) 
. In St Lucia we visited 
the 2 Piton region. On Union Island, 
we took time to walk around. We rented a car in Grenada and went to discover
this lovelyl island. This year, as it rain tremendously, everything is very
green and all the 
flowers
are out 
. In fact we had no dry season.
Here we are, back to 
Chaguaramas (Trinidad), where TiTOM will stay during the cyclone
season. During this time, to change a bit from the sea, the TiTOM's team has
decided to go during about 3 months back packing in South America. But before
that, we are getting our boat ready so that when we come back next year in
January 2012 she will be quickly in water and on the go again !.

Avril 20th 2011 : TiTOM anchored in front of Sainte Anne (Martinique), her team takes avantage of Christa's mother visit in Martinique to improve its health !

March 13th
2011 : TiTOM 
and her crew, both in good condition, reached Bequia, taking advantage of
easterlies wind to go 
North from Trinidad. In order for Christa 
to fully recover, we change our plans for 2011. We will enjoy 
cruising betweenTrinidad and Guadeloupe during the sailing season, and will
return to Trinidad for the hurrican season beginning of June. TiTOM will go back
to Europe in 2012.

January
29th 2011 : We eventually 
got the
engine back. Titom is looking brand new
again and is ready to be
lauched 
.
Unfortunately we had to delay our départure as Christa had to have a surgery mid-January and has to
still rest from now minimum 4 more weeks. We are thinking of leaving
Trinidad by begining of March. Meanwhile the captain is taking care of his two
precious women, his wife and his boat !

December 25th, 2010: We wish you all a

Hopefully we shall soon be able to see dolphins again ! We agree with what
William Shed wrote : "A boat in a harbour is in security. But it is not the purpose the boat has been built"
As we have plenty of time TITOM has changed her
look, her eyes 
become more feminine ?
Here in the Yard not a lot is going on during
Christmas and New Year, the few yachties leaving on board seems to have
disappeared ! Luckily our german friend Sophie and her futur trini husband
Junior have invited us on December 25th to spend Xmas 
with the family. It was a lovely experience 
December
11th 2010 : We had
quite a lot of changes during this year. First we discovered a beautiful island,
Malta, where we stay during 9 months. Unfortunately we decided to go back on our
boat in Trinidad get her ready and bring her back in Mediterrean sea. We arrived in Trinidad on October
22nd and since then we are working hard 
to get our boat ready for a new
start. We are slowly getting there.. A boat is not done to stay on shore.

for the long delay of not writing, we were quite busy this last months.
Lots of changes for the Titom's team.
We were suppose to go back on TiTOM beginning January and suddenly Pascal got a
job offer in Malta. We could not resist and took the opportunity to move to this
beautiful island. Here we are, since mid January in the lands of the knights... !!! 
New adventures are starting for us 
,
new discoveries, new experiences.
If
the island is not very big, it is a fantastic place for history, for culture !!!
we are very much looking forward to discorvering all this beauty during our
stay. We will let you know all about our adventures

For
those who would like to know 
what happen with our boat ? TiTOM in still in Trinidad, as soon as Pascal 
has got some holidays, we will fly to Trinidad and try to bring her in Malta ?!

October 6th, 2009 : We have not yet programmed our com back on TiTOM, but the cap'tain should be back in Trinidad in January to prepare our boat, and the admiral will arrive in February on a nice yacht ready to sail again ! Before that the next and last number, the 43rd, of our newspaper L'Amarre will be published, after 11 years of news to our family and friends.

August 4th, 2009 : To be back at home in summer time is always nicer than in winter time ! Otherwise, our next futur is a bit blank, depending on a lot of different factors, first of all finding a job !

May 24th,
2009 : Good sailing from Martinique to Grenada,
and short vacations for the TiTOM's team in Tobago Cays. Flat sea in the chanel
between Cariacou and Grenada and Saint Georges lagon 
not too full ! Tomorrow, we will go to the South coast of Grenada, where we will
wait for easterly winds to sail to Trinidad. Seems that will happend next
Wednesday or Thursday !

May
9th, 2009 : After our last visitors for the year
had left, TiTOM returned to her routine. Our come back to Martinique did not
bring us luck. On Saturday May 2nd, on our way back from the airport with our
friends Béatrice and Tjeerd, when we arrived to the pontoon where our dinghy 
was locked 
,
we discovered that the cable securing the dinghy has been cut ! 
and this one has been stolen. 
Thanks to the help of another yachtie, Christa, our friends and their luggages
could go abord of TiTOM while the captain went to the police to register a
complaint.
On Monday, we could buy a cheap and small dinghy in good state, and a friendly swiss yachtie lent us a 2 horses power up to Grenada. On Tuesday we left for St Lucie, unfortunately bad weather arrived and due to bad sea and very strong gusts of wind which broke the rope of our second reef, we were obliged to come back. When anchored in Sainte-Anne we discovered in the same time that the bilge was full of water ! Fortunatly we found out that it was only a loose clamps which has freed all our clear water tanks ! We let you imagine if that would have happened during a long passage... When Murphy law starts..... you never know when it ends ?!
The bad weather of these last days was such that in Martinique a few people have been killed. Now we are waiting for a good weather window to go back south to the Grenadines and then Trinidad.

March
3rd 2009 : In the West Indies, the change of island
and countries is quick ! Since the 29th of January, TiTOM has already (re)visited 3 nations
and 6 islands ! During carnival 
we stopped for a few days in Carriacou, 
charmed by its nice atmosphere.
With the strikes in the French islands, Saint-Lucia is a good stop over to stock up food and gasoil before the visit on board in Martinique and Guadeloupe of our many friends.

January 29th,
2009 : Back to the start ! Our gear box's leaks
still there after the change of all the seals in Trinidad last October, we
decided, as Chaguaramas is the nearest destination from los Testigos, to go back
to Trinidad. We arrived Monday evening, the gear box has been taken apart by the
captain on Thuesday morning, and Morton our mechanic, took care of it at
mid-day. On Wednesday afternoon, our engine was roaring again nicely, with 2 new
seals on the gear box and apparently no more leak. 
Now, as soon as the weather
forecast will be good, we will sail slowly up the caraibean's chain of islands
to arrive in Martinique around end of February.

January 20th,
2009 :
Margarita's charms not beeing much 
more than making up
onboard's provisions, we will leave this rolly anchorage early tomorrow morning.
We will arrive in Los Testigos tomorrow night. Then depending how much we like
the place, we may stay there for a few days, snorkling and relaxing before
sailing to Martinique, where we will arrive end of January-begining of February.

January 18th, 2009

TiTOM is Back in Margarita !
Half sailing half motoring,
our trip to the East has been pretty good. Further we sailed calmer the sea
became during our 2 days of navigation. Now that the most difficult part of our
return to East is behind, as soon as formalities completed, gasoil's tanks
filled, we will leave this rolly anchorage of Porlamar for Los Testigos
archipelago, with its few fisherman living there. Then we will head for
Martinique, where we should arrive during the first half of February.

January 12th, 2009 : Adios Los Roques ! Our friend Maya Back to Switzerland via Caracas, it's time for Titom to go back to Tortuga Island and then Margarita. If the weather forecast are correct, we will leave Thuesday. Next news from Margarita around Jauary the 18th.

Los Roques bis repetita !, this time with our friend Maya,
who joined us to celebrate the New Year in these beautifull water. Due to the
period of the year, ancorages are more busy, which is not surprising, but
sailing 
is still easy and fun.
